Ribbonwash is operated by [legal name], [country] ("we"). This policy explains what data we handle. Short version: we collect as little as possible, and your artwork never leaves your computer.
1. Your work stays on your device
Everything you create in the editor is stored in your own browser's local storage (localStorage), not in cookies. If you buy Pro, your license key and a random device ID are stored there too. We don't upload, see, or keep your artwork, and exports are generated in your browser. Clearing your browser data removes all of this.
2. Purchases
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and Merchant of Record. They collect your name, email, billing address and payment details to process the payment, send your receipt and license key, and meet tax obligations. We never see or store your card or other payment details. We receive order details (such as your email and order number) so we can provide support. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy for how they handle your data.
3. License activation
When you activate, check, or deactivate a license, the editor sends your license key and a device name or device ID to our server (a Cloudflare Worker), which forwards them to Lemon Squeezy to verify the license. Your IP address passes through this server as part of the request. We don't store this in a database; results are cached in memory for about a minute. Your browser keeps the activation locally so Pro works offline for up to 14 days.
We don't use advertising, cookies, or third-party analytics.
4. Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
5. Support email
If you email us, we use your message and email address only to help you.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access or delete any personal data we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. Data held by Lemon Squeezy can be requested from them as well.
7. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
